What is iDigi?

iDigi is an opportunity for you to compete with other high school students using digital equipment and your own personal skills.

There are many categories to enter your pieces, including typography, photo manipulation, fully functional websites, short films, music videos, and so much more. It is an experience for everyone and will have you leaving with great inspiration and usable knowledge.

iDigi is also an opportunity to express you creative ability in our T-shirt Design Contest. Your winning design will be the official T-shirt of the event and you and your teacher get one free. Entry is FREE!

Special guests are another reason to be here on Thursday, March 13, We have had speakers from the movie industry, gaming industry, advertising, television, and many more fields just waiting to answer your questions on how to get started.

And finally our participation events and demonstrations. Come and participate in demonstrations and hands on training using the software and equipment we use daily in Graphic Arts.

Categories

  • Video

    Formats: .mov, .mpg4
    compression: h-264; Mpeg4.
    Short Films: a digital video who's sole purpose is enjoyment or amusement. (Comedy, drama, music video, documentary, etc.) No longer than 20 minutes.
    Animated Short (2d or 3d): The manipulation of electronic images by means of computer, in either 2d or 3d space, in order to create the illusion of moving images. No longer than 20 minutes.

  • Music

    Formats: .mp3, .aff, .wav.
    Recorded Live: a digital recording in which on or more tracks were recorded from a live instrument or voice.
    Digitally Generated: digital music in which all tracks were created within the computer using pre-recorded loops and/or midi tracks. (Garageband, Acid Pro, etc.)

  • Print

    Formats: .pdf
    Brochures, Logos, Posters, etc.

  • Web Design

    Formats: Must be published online or submited in a ZIP file.

  • Digital Art

    Formats: 300dpi (in case of printing), .jpg, .eps, .tif (no layered documents).
    Digital Photography: a single image which has been taken by a digital camera and manipulated in a computer.
    Digital Art: artwork that has been created within a computer without the visible use of external media.

Entry Deadline: March 3, 2025
Show Date: Thursday, March 13, 2025
Show Location: South Plains College, Levelland Campus
Registration: Entries must be received by March 3, 2025

Fees

Educational Division: Fee of $10 per entry.
Artist may enter as many times as they wish, but each piece must have a separate entry fee.

Eligibility

  • Educational Division:
    14-18 (must be enrolled in an accredited school)
    Collaborations: Will be accepted, but all artists must be credited. If a collaboration wins a contest, the person who sent it in will need to be present at the festival to receive the award.
  • Age Of Pieces:
    Artist may go back three years to enter a piece into the festival. No previous entries to Idigi will be accepted.
  • Delivery:
    iDigi, South Plains College, the Creative Arts Department and Graphic Arts Program is not responsible for artwork that is not properly sent or received. All artists will be notified by email their work has been received within one week of entry. Artists should email Wayne Beadles (wbeadles@southplainscollege.edu) if they have not been notified. All artwork has to be submitted digitally. Prints will not be accepted.
  • Use Of Digital Media:
    The Artist, by submitting an entry, gives permission to use their art for promotional and presentational purposes of the iDigi Festival in web and print media. No watermarks or signatures. This contest is completely anonymous so there won't be the possibility of biased voting. Artists retain copyright and ownership to their own pieces.
  • Juried Show Disclaimer:
    The Artist, by submitting an entry, agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the iDigi Festival and South Plains College from and against any and all claims, demands or expenses (including attorney fees) for libel, slander, invasion of privacy, infringement of copyright, personal injury, damages or any other claims, demand or expenses resulting in the festival's performance in connection with this agreement.
